Everytime I see an interesting software, I want to test it. However not all software are well-developed and many have bugs which can cause damage to my system. Usually I use a virtual machine, but Toolwiz Time Freeze is another method whenever I feel lazy to turn on virtual machine that uses more system resources.
Toolwiz Time Freeze is a system recovery software that can prevent unwanted changes on a system. Basically, it works by placing the real system into a hidden virtual environment or sandbox, on the other hand making another copy from the hidden real system. Thus any new changes will be done only in the clone.
Upon exiting the cloned environment, you can either save all new changes to real system, or simply restart Windows to discard them. Besides system image recovery, Toolwiz Time Freeze also includes File Protection that prohibits unauthorized access and changes; plus the main program interface can be password-protected as a security measure.
In conclusion, this program with least options is best suited when making uncertain changes to system. Bear in mind that there are still malwares that can bypass this, thus virtual machine is probably still the best option available for serious test.
