IObit Malware Fighter: Not Up To Par!

I love IObit's Advanced Systemcare very much, driving me to also trying their replacement for discontinued Security 360, the Malware Fighter. IObit features a very pleasant homepage (not to say a little similar to Apple's ;P), and their products do look promising.

There are two versions, Free and Pro. However everything I'm writing now is only in the free version v1.2.

Interesting features in IObit Malware Fighter include real-time protection with file, browser, network, start up and cookie guards, implementing cloud analysis and is claimed to be compatible with all existing antivirus products, find the deepest infections as well as fast and light on system.

Downloaded 16.6MB installer, installing is swift and hassle-free but what's more important is the ability to detect infections.

With the same 150 sample I used on Emsisoft Emergency Kit, IObit able to capture only 13 infected files. For not being able to detect such huge amount of malwares, I believe this is not an acceptable result compared to other vendors. You judge!

Happy new year 2012!
