A firewall is crucial to control all inbound and outbound connections from your computer, to prevent unauthorized users or data leaking out. Starting from Windows Vista, the default Windows Firewall provides a considerably good outbound protection. However, many critics on the ease of use and hence chose a third-party product like Comodo Firewall.
To improve the built-in firewall, Windows Firewall Notifier further provides an easy control to handle both ingoing and outgoing connections, and displaying real-time information about the current connections.
This application doesn't really adds in anything more, as it simply uses the existing firewall and change some rules such as default-deny for all connections if no rule exists, enable all connections notification, and creates a scheduled task linked to the Windows firewall event log entries, allowing Windows Firewall Notifier to be launched when needed only.
Windows Firewall Notifier is a portable application that will be enabled after first launching of the EXE file. As a default-deny firewall now, all incoming and outgoing connection will be blocked and notified until user allows them. Very good! It should be a must on every system that uses Windows firewall!
