Many times people will encounter Internet connectivity issues after running for some time. This happens more at a Wifi hotspot or shared line due to the constant assigning and dropping of IP address. Data collisions or cache and IP conflicts might happen and leave a dead cell in router and thus results in no connectivity issue.
To fix this, restarting a computer is not an option as Windows automatically looks back for the previously used IP. Power cycling modem and router should be the best to refresh all devices connection, but you can't do that at a hotspot. Instead, renewing connection with router gateway can solve most, if not all connectivity issues.
- Open Windows command promp, cmd.exe
- Type in "ipconfig /release"
- Then, type in "ipconfig /renew"
If the 'release/renew' steps above don't fix the problem, then you can try flushing the DNS cache.
- Open Windows command promp, cmd.exe
- Type in "ipconfig /flushdns"
- Type in "ipconfig /registerdns"
