Deciding on which antivirus software to use is not a child's play since there are so many vendors out there, and some even offers a free version. However many free version have limited functions and what they claims is not what they do.
Panda Cloud Free is the first free antivirus that utilise cloud technology. By mean of cloud, all virus analysis is done from Panda servers rather than from traditional virus database in users' computer. Important features include real-time protection, behavioral blocking and disable Windows autorun feature.
A big thumb up for Panda Cloud compared to other competitors is the 5-stars usability where even a computer novice can use. There is almost nothing to configure, Panda is totally set-and-forget!
To test its capability, 130 malwares are used. Extracting them from a zip file, Panda real-time protection easily caught 90, while 96 from on-demand right-click scan. Very nice.
Verdict: Since Panda Cloud works on cloud, it is not able to protect when offline. This is not correct as Panda automatically sync its database with user's computer, thus protect even with no internet connection.
