Peerblock: Blocks Connections Of Internet Trackers!

Internet is indeed the best place to get any files and information. Apart from the standard HTTP or FTP download, P2P or torrenting remains the top channel for files sharing. Howbeit, everything we do over the Internet is tracked. Sounds scary? Deal with it! Numerous software and approaches have been introduced, like utorrent has built-in feature, but they won't be effortless to use for a novice.

Peerblock enables user to easily block incoming and outgoing connections to known bad computers like a firewall. It does solely the blocking job, using I-BlockList filtering.

At this moment, Peerblock by default is capable of blocking ip addresses ranging from anti-P2P organizations, spyware servers, education organizations, advertising and tracker companies. More blocklists can be customized manually or downloaded from I-Blocklist.

Already using it for months, my portable Peerblock has been doing a great job so far. Verdict rises where many argue that this approach is useless for protecting user privacy, on the other hand some strongly disagree. Well, with no 100% guarantee, Peerblock definitely helps, even a little to improve online privacy and security.
