What is a DNS service? "DNS" or domain name server acts like a storage and verification center which stores details of websites. When a user enters an URL on browser, it is then sent to the DNS to be checked for avaibility; if it is, the website is then fetched back to the browser.
Why to change DNS? In different countries, DNS by internet service provider as the middleman might block anything found offensive or sensitive. Plus, a poorly-maintained server often leads to slow DNS query and inconsistency. This guide uses these free global DNS providers which should perform better than the default.
To change DNS in Windows 7, navigate to the "Network and Sharing Center", then select "Change adapter settings".
Right click on your preferred adapter, select "Properties".
Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" and click "Properties". In the pop up box, check "Use the following DNS server addrresses: " and insert any DNS address from this list.
