Microsoft had launched its Windows 8 Developer Preview some time ago, and what we can see obviously is the changes in user interfaces. As of 29th of February 2012, Windows 8 Consumer Preview or Windows 8 Beta has been officially launched.
- 1 GHz processor
- 1 GB RAM for 32-bit; 2 GB for 64-bit
- 16 GB Disk space for 32-bit; 20 GB for 64-bit
- Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device or higher
For additional features like multitouch and snapping apps, you will need a tablet or monitor, and a screen resolution of at least 1366 x 768.
Unlike the developer preview, a product key is needed to activate this latest beta version.
